let me guess...

l-r late '24 A2z (78000-80000), '25 or '26 A1, '18-20 F4, late '21 A4

A2z has the black binding but not the inner solid A3 style ring..
A1 has horizintal inlay + screw on pickguard
F4 has the small burst area and.. apparently no Handels..
A4 has nickel silver truss cover and adj bridge which makes it a late '21

Mike:

That is one of the most managable cases of MAS I have ever seen! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Pretty good guessing Dan,a keen eye for sure
1923 A2-z
1924 A1
1921 F4
1922 A4

Sprucetop1, It really depends on "my" mood, as to which one sounds the best. They all have their own thing going on. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Dan, I thought the nickel truss rod cover made it only early '22. #Didn't think they had those at all in '21.

Oh yeah, and dang, nice mandolins http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

What are the serial numbers? I still think the A1 is a '25 http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Is it after 80500?

Interesting. The Pickguard style is circa 1925 (81xxx serial) as is the peghead inlay. Might be a visit back to gibson there in it's past..

Its possible, I have looked for any tell tale signs of the pickguard clamp scratches and none there. The finish is definatley old with the typical crazing and surface one would expect.Perhaps it had a make-over in the late twentys. I do know that the original arrow end tuners are missing, because of the old footprint left behind. It currently has the basic model rectangular plates.Mabey one day I'll find a set of arrow end tuners.

The nickel truss rod covers are always early 1922. There are no truss rods in 1921, only adjustable bridges.
I always like those early truss rod models, they're cool, and usually sound great.
Also, those screw style p/g clamps do appear before 1925. Again, they are my fave. Cleaner, and work better, IMHO.

I can't appear to make up my mind about the dates there, the archives jumps from 21 to 22 and back a couple times as you go through that serial range.. generally the nickel silver ones go from 68000-70000 or so. You see a couple of them on custom Loars (usually with owner's name on truss cover) or F4s from later

69147 is pretty weird with the open pattern script and canted inward tuner drilling appearing on that low of a serial number. That one may have gotten hung up in production. The remainder of the pics appear uniformly "in spec"
