An added vote for Fisher's H.pipe brings it w/in 4 votes of Cherokee.

(I don't really mind which one we play....but I thought I'd stir the pot.)

It sure has been a quiet week here....I am impatiently waiting for some more recordings of Sally Goodin....So far, I have learned something from every one that has posted and I am just loving it....maybe one day do a composite recording with as many of the variations as possible....that would be a fun one don't ya think?

Any of the songs listed will be fine with me.... I can be bought....very cheap....well....yea.....reallly cheap:cool:

Just switched my vote from Bonaparte to Cherokee (getting nervous about the number of votes for Fisher's). We'll have to try for Bonaparte's again next time.

Wow, Cherokee shuffle and Fisher's hornpipe are both on 26,79% today. Amazing! I'll need to look up some versions of Fisher's hornpipe! I was sure Cherokee shuffle would win...Didn't even believe Fisher's would get so many votes. Not that I mind, I really like that tune. Just a surprise anyway.

Which version of Fisher's Hornpipe from the Co-Mando site would we be learning....it includes the one by Ray Legere on the Wyatt Rice recording (the one with the 64th..or are they 128th? notes in the lead!)

Also, I learned Cherokee Shuffle from the Steve Kaufman CD and it's in a different key (easier key, in my opinion). But I suppose if that's to be, I can relearn it in the Co-Mando key

Does it have to be the exact same version ? (Not that I have anything against learning something new) Everyone seems to have done their own variation on "Sally Goodin".

it'll be whatever version YOU want to learn. i'll post link to an "official" version (whatever that means). but, pick whichever version suites you. it's been fun having all these different versions of sallyg. i'll try to pick the easiest TEF version of whichever song wins in the poll.

I downloaded the midi versions of both Cherokee and Fisher's. I really liked Robertson's Fisher's. But I have another version that is much nicer, because it goes minor in the second round.

Aye, it was a valiant effort folks! Made it interesting surging from the back. Now I got to learn that Cherokee Hornpipe or whatever it is called! Fisher's Shuffle Demon Hornpipe.....

Speaking of which, there was a band in Toronto I remember called the "Shuffle Demons".....
