Why are email addresses all screwed up

So many times I want to send somebody a message but when I click on their profile, it displays somebody elses.

For instance when I click on J. Mark Lane's profile, for the email it says "Send generankin an email".

I did notice if you do a refresh, the correct one is then displayed.

I sent mail to Dan about a year ago asking about this. As I recall, it's a known bug but nothing can be done about it for now.

Having said that, if you actually click on the link "Send generankin an email", the next screen where you do get to send your message, the recipient is the correct one... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

The profiles are messed up too. I don't want to take a chance that the wrong person will get the message.


I wish they would take the announcement " you have mail from mandolin cafe" off of the email. Does it really have to be on there? I am on other boards that sends the mail through the board only. It doesn't show at all on your email inbox.

I get mail via this forum fairly often and it always seems to work. I assume folks notice that the domain in my signature is a direct route which they can also take. To my knowledge, despite the bizarre profile page bug, mail gets to and fro correctly. Too bad they can't insert that notice in a more prominent place though, so people aren't afraid of it.
