Everytime I try to post tab using the default text settings things seem to get scrambled.
Any suggestions?

Try using an equal spaced font:
regular:
-----------7---4---
-4-7-6-4-8---6---4---
<span style='font-family:Courier'>equal spacing:
-----------7---4---
-4-7-6-4-8---6---4---</span>
To do this, before your tab, type #FONT=Courier, but put the FONT=Courier in square brackets []
After your tab, type /FONT inside of square brackets []
