Just got this baby 2 weeks ago! Was lucky to get a nice one, at a good price! Classic sunburst, mini-grover tuners, plays great!

Show me what you got! Gold glitter? Red?

Here's mine........(the bright spot at the bottom corner bass side is a reflection of the overhead light)

Will do.

Here's mine. I've had this for a while. The cruddy signal strength on the E string made me try a couple of things. A Seymore Duncan 1/4 Pounder PBass pickup didn't help. That's when the guitar tech at the local store suggested a Firebird pickup. A little routing later I had a Mandobird that screams. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I like the seafoam green ones. Picked this up recently while the big e-store had 'em on sale.

One of my good friends is a luthier so I took it over to show it off and while we chatted he filed the nut slots and the frets (weren't level, what a shock) and adjusted the intonation. It's pretty darn nice now. For the money I think it's a great deal but it does have a weak E string. I'll be going after that next. Thanks for the hint about the Firebird pickup, I'm not afraid to get the chisels out.

Jay----love that sea-foam green! Yea, the nut on mine is a little uneven too, I'd like to get a bone nut put on it.
Looks great! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Mine had the usual intonation difficulties - the bridge is a bit too far forward. I added a couple of spacers (I used hex nuts, #10 I think) behind the screw heads of the G and D strings to allow the saddles to pull back far enough. That let me get the 12th fret intonation right at the expense of making string changes difficult.

The E string pickup is weak, like others have reported. I haven't done anything about that yet. The nut could use some work, the E string is a bit too close to the edge of the fretboard. Like the pickup, that's on the 'one of these days' list. For now it plays fine for what I do with it. If I actually played out, or even with other people, I'd be more motivated to tinker with it.

Well get busy, Billiam! Get in a jam, or a local open-mic and start playin' that mandobird!
