I wrote this little mandolin riff a couple days ago and shaped a song around it. I've been playing mandloin for about a month - since I got one for my birthday in Feb http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Tell me what you think of this little song I'm calling No Regrets.

it's me on guitar, vocals and mandolin (Breedlove Quartz OO)

Awesome for a two day song... just getting the tracks down that quick is amazing. Great falsetto section. What guitar are you playing?

Chris,
I remember your great Mp3 from last month, too. You got talent, and I'm sure glad you're sharing it with us all.

And I have to confess, I immediately grabbed the mando and figured out yer lick. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif I can totally see how things could just evolve out of it. Once again ... great job!

Chris, great job! #I like the song. #I have been thinking it would be cool to have a thread for original songs written by Cafers. #I don't have time to tend to it the way Craig has been with the Song of the Month thread. #He's done a great job with that one. #

If some selfless mando-community servant wanted to do that one, it would be cool. I've got a feelin' Benignus might have a song or two we'd like to hear too!

SJennings,
I've been thinking the same thing ... but it all comes down to server space. Maybe I'll ask my bro (uber-geek) if he has any room we could use.

But .. honestly, while I don't have stage fright at all, I get nervous and self-concious every time I post a song up here. Silly, huh? 'Cause I've always gotten nice words in return.

I have pretty strong anti-media ideas that run around my brain, so anything that supports music without supporting The Machine is a good idea .. to my thinking.

Hey Soups,
I gotta ask ... You're a *real* songwriter aren't you? I mean, are you shooting to get public notice, or to publish, or something? 'Cause I think you're working on a 'higher level' than most. I couldn't tell in your B-day thread if you were serious or kidding about an 'upcoming tour'.

Hey Benig,

If you have any songs as good as your version of Sally, then you shouldn't have any reservations of letting people hear them. I would recommend anyone interested in posting an original song make sure it's copyrighted, etc. first. If you do have the next gold record song, you want to make sure it's YOU that gets paid for it!
