Nice. I love my Old Wave mandola and octave! Mine are both blondes. What's yours going to be?

I really wish Bill had been at IBMA. Have been eyeing that guitar shaped octave of his for a long time, but got my hands on Fletcher's first.

Will be looking forward to seeing this one finished.

Hey Pete, Bill's #oval holed 'dolas are the cat's butt. Mine's got this funky off speed tape echo type natural delay thing going on that even makes new songs sound old.<G>
Bill doesn't waste much daylight, so by the looks of things you'll be playing yours soon.... Enjoy!

That's a real beauty; it's what I'm hoping to get as my next instrument as well. Any back pics?

Good thing Bill took that plastic bag out of the soundhole too--not quite as cool as a rattlesnake rattle...

Very nice. I don't think I've ever seen the back of an Old Wave that doesn't inspire.

Got it today. It sounds great and is even better looking in person. Thanks so much Bill!

Gotta love a blacktop 'dola. Did you get it with a 16" or 17" scale?

Pete,
How dose it compare to your old Gibson? I played your old one at Darington and have injoyed following this.

It plays way nicer and brand new sounds much better, more of that old oval hole tone I really like.

Beautiful piece of wood, and the finish compliments it perfectly.

I got the 16" scale. I'm playing mostly straight ahead Jazz these days, Real Book standards and bebop tunes. I'm going to try tuning it Eb Bb F C and see if it gives the voice I'm looking for. If that doesn't work, this sounds great as a regular mandola.

Any one got an idea on string gauge for that tuning?
