I plunked on it a bit at IBMA...
Sounded great...

Tough to lay out that kind of dough on a 'dola, but I guess that's what they're going for...

They've had that quite a while. It started out at $100K and then reduced to 85K. No pickguard with several cracks.
That price could snag a pretty nice 20's Fern is probably the reason it has not sold. They are indeed rare, hard to come by, seldom scene,almost impossible to find for sale.

interesting take on the old supply and demand theory.

here we have a LL signed instrument, FAR rarer than the rare LL mandolins - and it probably wont go until its down to $60K. of course, this needs no explanation, there just isnt that kind of demand for a 'dola. they are "cool" but not THAT cool. same deal with the LL L-5's, you would THINK that being the first modern guitar, they would be up with 50's LP's, but people want what their heros played....$250K+ for a '59 LP is sick IMO.
