i searched the whole site but i cant find the retail price of any gibson mandos.

Any suggestions?

If you mean suggested retail, you can find that price at many dealers on the web, thought the most complete is probably www.elderly.com

If you want to know what you actually have to pay, you'll have to contact the dealer directly

I wonder what the difference is between the Gibson F5-G and the F5-G Custom?

One of the things I didn't care for on the 5G was the back, however I see that Music Machine has their own version which has a burst back - which looks great!

I wonder if that is what is being called the F5G Custom?

I got a look at the Music Machine F5-G, Wow! The sunburst on the back seems like a logical match to the rest of the instrument. I guess it would be more costly than the plain stained back to make but it sure looks nice. Their price seemed pretty high!

I agree their price is steep. I know they are a huge Gibson dealer - they could be the largest. It might be that the price they show is "list"?

I think the F-5G custom has block inlay and a scalloped extension(?)....I'm pretty sure I saw it last time I was down there..That 1 of 1 custom is a pretty mandolin too...blonde finished cherry top if I recall correctly...kind of steep in price though....
