I just bought Full Circle by Vassar Clements. I think his version of Tall Timber is the fastest recorded song that I have. Is there a faster one?

Haven't heard that one, but Monroe did some pretty fast versions of Whitehouse Blues. The version I have with a mandolin break on it is blazingly fast.

Earl Taylor used to do Monroe covers, a little faster,
perhaps a little higher, and a MUCH longer high G
on Mule Skinner Blues.

Listen to his version of Whitehouse Blues on the
Folkways compilation from way, way back.

His spoken introduction has to be the fastest ever!

("Here's one we got picked out for you today,
hope you're going to enjoy it just a whole lot, one called
the Whitehouse Blues" - and, yes, fast tempos usually lead
to an abundance of cliches)
