Well timnes have changed and I am now playing in a band with accordion, drums and keyboards. I am finding micing to be a real pain and am contemplating the uncontemplatable....a pickup in my A9.

Any advice out there. I am looking for something non obtrusive that won't effect the tone much and givbe a natural sound when amplified.

Send it to Gibson OAI, and have them install a Baggs pickup. I did that with an F9, and am very pleased.

Believe it or not a friend of mine hooked up a dobro pick up to the bridge on the treble side. He just put it under the adjustment screw. I played it one night at an open mic type thing and it sounded pretty good, but I like the idea of sending it to Big Joe...

I'm a fan of the Schertler too, it sounds good and comes right on and off. If you go that route definitely get the preamp as well.
