If you like klezmer, Chassidic, and/or American roots music (including bluegrass) and are within driving distance of Lewiston, Maine, consider coming up this Sunday, October 9th. The Andy Statman Trio is performing at 8:00pm in the concert hall in the Olin Arts Center at 75 Russell Street on the Bates campus.
Statman studied mandolin with David Grisman--as well as clarinet with klezmer master Dave Tarras. Statman has recorded with Itzhak Perlman, the Grateful Dead, and Bob Dylan. In this concert, he will be backed up by Larry Eagle on percussion and Jim Whitney on bass.
