been playing mandolin about a year but having a hard time finding others with similar experience to learn and jam with in the Rochester NY area.

Howdy!I'm out in Palmyra,been playing mandolin for about 15yrs,more seriously since 94.
You might try the Fiddlers of the Genesee weekly jam.Its held either in Fairport at the VFW on Fairport rd,or at the Legion post in Penfield.
Its a group jam of primarily fiddle tunes.Costs $10yr to be a member.

There used to be a Sunday jam at Barnstormers in Henrietta (on Jefferson). A guy named smith (Bob Smith? Used to have a folk/bluegrass radio show on WXXI?) was in charge. Are you a westsider? There is one at the Brockport conservatory once a month and I've heard of one near Attica. I could try and track down the details.
I'm a Churchville guy -- been playing about 2 years -- have only been to one jam and I played guitar. :-(
