Bret,

Great pics!!!! I've always liked what Driftwood does. Absolutely beautiful.

That's one shiny mandolin! I'm more of a no frills kind of guy so the headstock is a bit much for me, but I'm sure it'll make the guy who gets it happy. I've always liked what I've seen from Driftwood. Still kicking myself because I had the chance to get him to make me his first two pointer. Oh well.

When and where were those pics taken? That grass is greener than green. Down here in Virginia the grass is browner than ever. We need rain bad....anyways, that mando looks awesome. I really would like to play ones of those one day.

Wow Brett,

What a beauty.

I just can't understand why you went with those inexpensive schaller tuners and that chipboard case. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Another great job by mr. Poe.

Finished pictures of #017 to follow soon.

OK so I'm jaded, Gibson clones bore me.
Do something original other than the name on the headstock.

Looks nicely made.
very shiny

How's it sound....like a Gibson?

I think the driftwood mandolins are as pretty as any I have ever saw. Love the inlay! But, how do they sound???

JGWoods, take a look at Driftwood's Website (http://www.driftwoodmandolins.com/NewSite/Gallery.html)... It's pretty far from a Gibson cloning venture http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Rigels are far from a Gibson cloning venture.
The Driftwoods look very nice, some really nice headstock variations, execution- fit and finish- looks fine on my monitor.
I wish the builder well.
Just not my cup of tea that's all.

Can anyone review the sound quality of more recent Driftwoods? The early reviews rated volume level a B. Has Poe improved the volume?

Is there some echo around here? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I reckon the owners of the latest Driftwoods are not using the cafe that much... The Owners List (http://www.driftwoodmandolins.com/NewSite/Driftwood_Owners.html) has contact details if you're interested http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

Man,

I'd love to get in on this, but I'm afraid that my objectivity might be in question. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
