I spotted this one on Elderly's site and I'm wondering, can anyone give a review if you have it? I don't really like to buy CDs without hearing a few sample cuts but I'm afraid I won't find any for this one at the usuall places.

I found this listing (http://www.midcontinentmusic.com/detail.cfm?Catalogid=1859)at MidContinent. This review (http://www.belmando.com/ebiz/belmando.nsf/Frames/1?OpenDocument&LINK=http://www.belmando.com/ebiz/belmando.nsf/Pages/Home?Open)showed up on Google ... but it is by the company who released the CD. There are a few cuts from it on the bottom right hand side of the page. Nice sounding - even for a fast download MP3. so ... I think I'll call Bill Hamilton and get a copy sometime this week. It looks like it has some nice stuff on it.

Hey, I knew someone would come through. Thanks for the links. I saw the one site with the samples but I was in a rush and obviously missed them. I may give this one a try too. Thanks again.

Got it the other week. I think that "Goin' to Brownsville" can't come up to the Ry Cooder cover, but the piece with the electric slide mandolin was worth the price of admission. Several other cuts were also very pleasing. Woodward is an excellent instrumentalist, certainly, and comfortable with a variety of styles.

Hi all,
just spotted this thread and thanks for nice comments Bob.

The review that showed up on google comes from www.mandolinking.org.uk which is an independent site with no connection to Belmando records - it's an interesting uk mando site and well worth a visit (and also you can see the full review there!)

There are sound clips at www.belmando.com if you want to hear more. Hope you like them and thanks for the interest,
Best wishes,
Marc Woodward

I bought a copy last week. Highly recommended. Very tasty playing and singing.
