SOMETIMES WHEN i AM UP PICKING i HIT THE STRING UNDER THE STRING I WANT TO PICK. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it?

I think we all do that "SOMETIMES". Sometimes I hit the string above the one I'm picking too. More practice, less mistakes.

I find that practicing Jonh Moore's (http://www.mandozine.com/index.php/techniques/techinfo/picking_exercises/) picking exercises will help you in this technigue. I practice them first thing and use a metronome.

Start slowly at first around 60 BPM, until you can do each exercise perfectly then increase the metronome speed 10-20 BPM. If you find yourself struggling at the increased speed, decrease the BPM's down a half of what you increased by, ie increased from 60 BPM to 80 BPM, turn down to 70 BPM or half of the 20 BPM you increased by.

Hope this helps.
