I'll let these speak for themselves. Don tells me it needs to cure for a week, then the buffing...then string 'er up and ship 'er out. Needless to say... I'M DYING TO GET MY HANDS ON IT!

Nice choice Mark. A work mate of mine has a Pomeroy F5 with a similar color, which looks great. Sounds pretty nice too!

Very nice!! you went with the Pom-sepcial semi-gloss; nice choice.
Flat fingerboard?

Don does beautiful classic looking sunbursts. I think that, plus the exceptionally handsome scroll and inlay, really drew me to his mandolins.

Best wishes on the last of your wait.

Thanks, guys. #Yes, Lee, I couldn't see not getting that signature finish. #And yes, it's a flat board, which is what I like. #A wee bit wider than usual, which I thought would be nice for an F4 (I won't be doing "chop chords" as much on this one). #For the color, I mostly just kind of gave Don a general idea of what I wanted, and asked him to use his artistic skills. #I am VERY happy with the result.

Very, very nice! Ovals are where it's at, IMHO. I know you're going to love it.

JML, Even though it is needless for me to say, I will anyway - it is just beautiful, beautiful. Love the color, I have dropped the pics on my desktop so I can compare the shades of red. I love Don's work, the F4's are truly special.
When I get home tonight I think I will give mine a little hug and pick.
Be a long week, excited for you.

Richard,

Of course, yours was the inspiration that led me to go with this color scheme. Thanks for being bold.

Mark -

Truly a real beauty.

And, as you know with Don's work, it will sound and play
better than it looks, which is difficult to believe!

Congrats and good luck with it. I'll be looking forward to
your 'post receipt' review.

Oh, Mark. #That really is nice. #I bet your understating how much you want to get your hands on it, just to fool us. # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
