The Mandolin article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandolin) in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org) could use a few contributions, especially on the history of mandolins, and mandolin traditions around the world. I added a short paragraph on Brazil, but i'm swamped with work right now.

I agree. I've added a bit to this section in the past and began the linked sections on Howe-Orme and Vega. This community is exactly the sort of group that makes Wikipedia work when it does. Some of the regulars in the Classical section of the Cafe, in particular, could greatly improve what's currently available. We are the repository for much of this esoteric knowledge and Wikipedia is one vehicle for sharing it more broadly.
