Michael Reichenbach kindly posted a link a little while ago to an online archive of most back issues of the BMG Magazine, a publication issued by Clifford Essex in the UK from 1903 until it was discontinued in 1976 (it has more recently been revived):

I have been playing around with a few short fun pieces in the magazine -- see attached scores and below home recordings:

1) Scherzo (Louise Harrison, June 1950), two mandolins and guitar

2) Russian Frolic - Folk song medley (arr. H.P. Skinner, October 1947), two mandolins and guitar chords

Further to her lovely "Scherzo" which I recorded back in September, here is another short piece by Louise Harrison, also written as a trio of two mandolins and guitar.

Louise Harrison (1951): "Clarissa Tango"

First published in the June 1951 issue of the BMG Magazine, available for free download from:

My recording uses a tenor guitar instead of guitar for slightly different chord voicings from the notated part.

Vyna Waltz (E.G. Sheffield, 1972)

This waltz for two mandolins appeared in the August 1972 issue of the BMG Magazine. I attach the score.

I have played both parts on a vintage Italian mandolin, double-tracked.
