while I'm playing. #This is really bad after I play the "D" string. #Lets say I'm playing Red Haired Boy. #While I'm playing everytime I play any note on the D string, the other strings pick it up and start ringing. #This actually happens with all the strings but the D is the worst. #I already have the little rubber grommets but its not helping. #Also, this has gotten worse as the mando has opened up. #The sound is getting better but the ringing is getting worse.

Well, your instrument is a very efficient sound amplifier. You're getting sympathetic vibrations on the strings you're not picking. You'll have to damp the strings somehow, with your picking hand or with left hand fingers you're not using. I use the meaty part of the right hand, at the base of the thumb.
Only other solution is to decide what string you most use, and remove the others, I suppose, though that does seem kinda drastic.

I brought this issue up a while back, so you're not alone. I use a Rigel A+ Deluxe, and it's pretty lively. It turns out others have experienced the same. It's actually a good thing - You have a lively instrument. One individual even contacted Peter Mix about the sympathetic vibrations.
So the answer is, just like on an electric guitar, you find ways to mute the strings with your hands, left and right.
You don't happen to have a Rigel, do you?

No, I have a Sumi. About using the palm of the hand to dampen the strings...I actually used to rest my right hand on the bridge, but have since learned to not rest(anchor) my hand and my sound has increased but like I said the ringing has increased. Oh well, the search continues.

Try flat-wound strings. Sometimes they help tame the sympathetic vibrations.
