I have been playing my ukulele a lot lately. When I switch back to mandolin I always find the full chord a bit muddy. So I decided to take off the second course of strings.
On my mandolin (a cheap archtop mandolin with an oval hole) this makes a lot of difference. I have a whole new appreciation for this mandolin.
Are there any others who like their (acoustic) mandolins single-stringed?
