View Full Version : Lazy Sunday pics
I found myself doing some early morning picking and the sun was shining; seemed too good not to take a few pics:

Nice pics! Send some sun our way please!
I just got back from a trip to see some shows at redrocks, took only one mando shot but it’s sunday and I am lazy so I wanted to revisit this thread...

If you all don't mind seeing my Oldwave again. I took a bunch this morning but will put up these three. I was playing with a DxO one camera on my phone. My wife's, but she never uses it so I'm trying to teach my daughter how to use it with her iPad.

I have some fascination with the empty stage after we get set up, everything ready to go just looks good to me!:mandosmiley:

I have another rotated mandocentric view of our pre-gig setup
And apparently lazy sunday has turned into me being lazy and posting pics from the night before!

And yes, we have gone full upsidown

At least I am consistently upside down... We played a bluegrass kickoff to Octoberfest Sat night, it was a pretty good time!

If you took your pictures upside down, they would come out upright.... looks like fun, even if all your blood rushes to your head :))

How dare you post a picture of a Weber 2-point! Don't you know that I'm over my MAS - and now you're just rubbing it in my face.
Now I need to go take a cold shower . . . .

My new baby came in a few days early, and turned out to be fairly decently set up although I am still going to run her past a professional.
Here she is with my old "cheap" Donner mandolin, which for its price range is really very decent and which I'm going to give to Goodwill with a hope that some kid will pick it up out of boredom and eventually join the ranks. (New Kentucky KM-276 is on the left.)

And here she is by herself. She's already holding tuning fairly decently although it'll be a bit before she opens all the way up. I have a hard case on the way.

How about a video or a sound-clip on that Weber 2-point . . . it's a beauty!

Lazy Monday
I picked up the book at an antique store years ago.

This is an older video, and the audio isn't awesome... but it's the only thing I could come up with on short notice! I'll have to get something more recent, because I think it sounds better now that I had it refretted.
I play a solo about 1:18

Wow, that's a beautiful instrument with some unique features, I like it! Who made it?
And the only song from the book cover I immediately recognized is "my wild irish rose" but "I'm forever blowing bubbles" either sounds familiar or just entertaining

Thanks, I built it back in 2001, based on a Lyon and Healy tiple we had in the shop. I never liked the L & H scrolls so I used a viola pattern instead.
