I know there are lots of folks and an active mandolin scene in San Francisco. I am not from there but I have met some wonderful musicians who are active on this site as well.

Come down to the Great 48 next weekend in Bakersfield. It’s my favorite event of the year. You’ll meet pickers from all levels.
