I live in Union, SC, just down Hwy 176 a bit. #Boiling here, too, BTW.

Where in the state is Boiling Springs? Is it coastal or upstate, piedmont?

In the upstate - Spartanburg County. #In fact, it's just north of Sparkle City.

My wife was born down there.

Now her sister is living in Greenville, SC and she's up here in Westfield, NC and like Alan said, BURNING UP.

I could ask her husband if he'd be interested in picking if it aint to far for ya?

We had a very good Monroe/Compton-centric jam this past February up near Mount Airy. Fine time was had by all....
Anyone can host a Carolinas jam....

Hey, Evan, that looks suspiciously like the last CoMando Gathering, May 11-15, 2005 at Helton Creek, NC.

I sure miss being around all those good pickers. There's a lot of talent in that photograph!

Yeah, the local NC mandolin derelicts! Never know where they may appear.
The goober on the right missed the Gathering because he was in Florida fishing; he didn't catch any fish. Serves him right!!!

I'm in Simpsonville...

You should check out the jam in Pumpkintown, at the old Oolenoy school house on Friday nights. It's a "good-un".

I sometimes make it over to Pumpkintown--I'm just down the road in Pickens. I'm enough of a beginner to still feel a little green at jams.
