Would a strap tied around the fretboard like on this A5 mandolin (https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=121528&d=1405278219) work on an asymmetrical 2-point style mandolin (http://jazzmando.com/sorensen_sprite_mandolin.shtml) without rubbing or interferring with the upper point?

I've seen buttons inside the horn like on Mowery 2 points (http://www.mowrystrings.com/TPgallery.htm#)and while it may be practical I'm not a leaning toward that

What have you seen or used that works on asymmetrical 2-point?

Thanks, Mark

To answer your question, I think the strap would rub against the upper point on either side. You could mount the strap on the headstock. Bruce Weber will be building me a symmetrical two point and I am leaning towards the strap button like on the Mowery. The only other option I have seen is to mount it on the back side of the mandolin, I am not real fond of that placement.

Would a strap on a typical A5 heel button position interfere with the upper point?

I don't think it would bother any more than a strap wrapped around the scroll.

I have an asymmetrical two point with heel button to the treble side and it works well.
