I have an opportunity to purchase a Kentucky KM365 The owner tells me it' the same as a KM900. It was purchased by his father in 1971. I have found no information on model KM365 to date in order to compare. Anyone have any ideas?

Saga says they are over 40 years old so in theory they *might* have been selling a Kentucky branded mandolin that early. If it's this (https://chico.craigslist.org/msg/d/beautiful-20year-old-kentucky/6563000028.html) one I seriously doubt it's that old.

Added: OK, that is the one and you'll notice the title says it's 20 years old and the text says it was bought new in 1971. Kind of a conflict there unless that ad is from a long time ago. Twenty years I could see.

I think the claim that it is the same as the KM-900 is bogus. The instrument pictured appears to have a rosewood fretboard and bridge, while the KM-900 has ebony. It might still be a fine mandolin and worth $300 to you, but I'd play it first to make sure. I'd ask for a picture of the label
