I read this RS article a couple weeks ago when posted, good stuff. The mandolin clip in that other thread was great!

Went to Amazon when I read the original thread. Strictly for the historical value.

"The Pizza Tapes" is still one of my favorite non-Dead Jerry recordings.
For me, the fave non-GD Jerry are Hooteroll? and other Howard Wales things, the various Saunders/Garcia releases and some of his solo LPs, where his breadth and latent talents were showcased. The OAITW issues are also cool. The new Pre-Dead recording looks interesting.

I do like the Saunders/Garcia stuff too! So many good recordings in Jerry's discography...

I know I'd be a poorer man if I never heard John Hartford's Hamilton Ironworks, and The Pizza Tapes.
