This week’s unusual instrument is a 1916 Gibson K4 Mandocello. This is an exceptionally fine sounding and playing example with a 24 ¾ scale length, no truss rod and Handel tuners. For some reason the video camera’s auto focus had a little trouble this time, and the focus is not sharp in parts of the video (perhaps from the music stand being placed forward of where I was sitting?). I play a couple traditional classical things plus a third slower unnamed thing.
