Right, this baby is my reward for having given up smoking after 15 years of self-pollution.

I won't go overboard with praises though Andy deserves all of them, but here's the gist of it. The craftsmanship is excellent, finish is excellent, and the sound is also excellent, but more to the point, it's spot-on what I wanted.

I had a very precise idea of what I wanted in an F-style, both in terms of sound and looks/feel. The virzi is in there because it makes sense to me from a scientific point of view. It's a very lovely instrument to play, and the sound is straightforward and complex at the same time. The wire inlay was my idea, but the design is entirely Andy's.

Happy me!

Beautiful! And since this is a reward because you quit smoking, you've actually done two good things for your health. Relax. Strum a bit. Enjoy your lowered BP.

Wonderful instrument! Great back too. If it sounds as good as it looks, who needs anything else.

Thanks folks! It is very lovely, and plays very nicely. I still miss my ciggies, but at least I have something to remind me why I stopped http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif !
Andy is becoming quite good at creating original inlays. You might remember "the marlin" that was posted here some time ago:

Wow, that is a nice looking mandolin. Don't let too much dust get on the flattop. In the event of re-lapse you will have to send that baby over to me until re-recovery. I quit smoking myself, about 20 times. Been smoke free now for 5 years.

There are just so many things about this mandolin that speak of elegance and grace.
The perfect sunburst.
The understated finger board extention.
The almost unnoticiable arm rest.
The inlay, Oh lord , the inlay

Someone please stop me !

Congratulations Germain, You and Andy should be very proud.

A Driftwood brother,

B.Pat

Beautiful mandolin and inlay. There's just something so beautiful about the shape of an f-style mandolin and especially one so beautifully made. Congrats and happy picking.
