I just scored this mandolin for a steal. I'm a banjo picker and wanting to know about it. Anyone familiar with Ike Bacon? All I know is hes from northern indiana, mades some mandolins and plays bass. I'd like to find out more about this fine mandolin. I think its tiger maple or walnut back and sides, spruce top, but thats about all i know.

Interesting design choices. I, at first, wondered whether that headstock had the little scroll broken off then thought maybe he ,ade it that way. The neck is also joined differently than most mandolins.
How does it sound and play? Maybe Ike is still around and you can get info from him.

He's on linkedin here: Ike Bacon (https://www.linkedin.com/in/isaac-ike-bacon-a6061714/).
You could also contact the Indiana Fiddlers Gathering (http://www.indianafiddlersgathering.org/artists/bluegrass-connection) and see if they have contact info for him or his band.
There is also this old thread (https://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?30146-Bacon-mandolin) with posting by another owner of one of his mandolins, tkdboyd who lives in his area.
