Most of you know I make rather a lot of tenor guitars these days. Many are the basic cedrela and mahogany Session King - I love them basic, "no frills" tenors. Now most folk, if they ask for any upgrades or changes go for a spruce top, but the chap who ordered this pretty much left me to design this one myself. He said he wanted me to make something that I wouldn't want to part with! So here it is:

There is still a bit of work to do, so this is a sneak peak. The top is cedar, but rather than flat, this is a Howe Orme style cylinder top. The back and sides are flame maple. As is the neck.

I'll take some more pics tomorrow to show you the back and sides.

I love the tone of the cylinder tops. If I am at a point where I can afford one it’s what I’d like to get. Beautiful guitar.

Looks great, Nigel! Can't wait to play it. If anyone's interested, there's some build shots of this tenor at https://www.instagram.com/marcja/.

That looks great. Could you post a pic of the finished back? The build pics in your IG showed some nice figure. Enjoy that beauty.
