Rob is great to work with and makes sure he knows exactly what you want. I can't say enough to describe the service Rob provides.

Man, that thing could double as a card table http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

How comfortable is that case to carry? Weight?

I second (or third or whatever) the statement of Wow! when it comes to Rob's work. He will make you a nice case or any other accesory that you need such as an armrest. All at a very reasonable price.

AlanN; or maybe a picnic table! Gotta eat. I'd like to have a case to hold three, in the event someone just absolutely had to buy one of 'em.

Sweet!

So how much does it weigh? I always liked that other 2 mando case you've been toting to Wintergrass, was there a problem with that one?

Does that protect the mandolins as well as if they were in two separate cases? Just curious.

Russ,

It is very comfortable to carry it isn't much longer than a standard case and only weighs 15 lbs with both mandos.

Pete,

No problems with the other cases. I just saw Robs' work an thought it would be cool to have one. It is 8 lbs lighter and 6 inches shorter. So, it it easier to handle. I will still use the other case if I have to check it when I fly.

Professor PT,

It does protect as well a a single case. It is the same make up and materials just doubled.

That's a great looking case and great looking instruments. Is that a Neil Dean 2 point? If so hows she playin?

Mandobando,

That is a Dean two-point and it is great. It plays and sounds as good as it looks. The other mando is a Brentrup 23v and it is hard to pick which one to play.

Rob built a Loar-style case for me last year and I can also say that his work is excellent and his customer service is very impressive. While my case offers good protection, it's questionable on extensive travel(and it's just too good looking to chance getting it scratched!). I hope that Rob continues to build his business--he's a real asset to the mandolin world.
