I JUST RECEIVED VINCENT'S "RAGIN LIVE" IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY.
IT'S GOT 20 SONGS, WITH JUST A FEW RE-MAKES. SHE ALSO PUT A COUPLE OF CARL JACKSON SONGS ON IT. "GHOST OF A CHANCE" (CJ)
WILL BRING TEARS TO AN OTHERWISE NORMAL PERSON.HER AND THE RAGE PICK & SING THEIR GUTS OUT ON THIS ONE. SHE ALSO HAS SOME VERY GOOD GUEST MUSICIANS(CELLO, VIOLA)FOR A COUPLE OF NUMBERS, AND
BJ AND MOLLY CHERRYHOLMES. THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST PERFORMED
AND PRODUCED MUSIC IV'E HEARD IN A WHILE.

I FEEL A GRAMMY WINNER ON THIS ONE.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE SHE GOT THOSE CHERRYHOLMES KIDS?

When I heard they were coming out with a live album, I knew immediately it would be their best. Not saying anything bad about their previous albums, but they have always been a much better live act than in the studio, in my opinion. They have put on a great show everytime I've seen them. First rate musicians and tons of energy.

This is a must for any Bluegrass fan. Great energy and amazing musicianship. Only thing I wish it could do would be to play in my CD player. Caint listen to DVDs while driving in the car.

I was blown away by this one too. Rhonda picks the mandolin as good as she looks. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I don't own any RV stuff. I saw her on Woodsongs and she hardly picked the mando, and I always thought she was kind of straining to reach her notes, so I admit I wasn't that impressed. But all I hear now are great reviews, so I'm tempted to buy this album...

I'd agree that she doesnt play mandolin enough and you musta caught her on a bad night in regards to her vocals. While she doesnt take a break on a lot of tunes, she can play it. When you've got three other very talented solo instrumentalists it doesnt leave room for a forth break most times.

Her best CD to date. Besides the trainwreck at the end of the 1st song, the CD is flawless.

Great work Rhonda........ http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

To quote Jere (Pop) Cherryholmes, "Sandy (Mom) Cherryholmes is the literal producer of the Cherryholmes family through a lot of hard labor" http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

The thing I like most about Ragin Live is how incrediblly good that Smith Creek mandolin sounds. And it doesn't matter who is playing it, Hunter, Josh, or Rhonda. It sounds great!!!

Just finished my first listen. #I think i have to agree with keymandoguy - the torch has been passed from Allison to Rhonda. AKUS does very well at what they do, but what they do is no longer straight ahead bluegrass. RV and the Rage does BG with fire.

I thought Josh played his Hutto? Might be confusing it with the other live shows I saw though.
