There's now an Ellis 2 Point mandolin. Tom posted this on the Ellis Mandolin FB page.

Maybe your Ellis A would enjoy a nice little 2 point sibling. Any idea how the tone compares to yours? Thanks for sharing the pic. It's a sight to behold for sure.

That is sweet! Now, if Pava can riff on the two point idea using the Kemnitzer/Bussmann C# outline/shape, I will know where my money will be headed. Facebook is a no-go for me, so I will have to wait until more is posted on the Ellis/Pava website. Thanks, I think, for the heads-up.;)

I played that one at IBMA in the exhibition hall. Despite cacophony all around, it was a great sounding mandolin. Somebody needs to take that baby home and spank it!

I played it at IBMA. Sounded more like his F-5 than an A, as Two-Pointers often do. Lovely design and brilliant execution. #EllisRules

I love asymmetrical two point mandolins. Its a wonderful shape that never gets tiring.

Lovely.

I got a chance to play that one as well. All three of the Ellis mandolins there were super. The two point had considerable more volume than both the F mandolins. Like John said, there was a lot going on as far as back ground noise at the expo. But I believe that mandolin will wind up being one of the great ones.
