Hi, my name is Antonio and i'm from Rio de Janeiro (BRA).

Until my neighbour moved, he leaves me a mandolin (Stagg 50e). It's old and have a lot of problems but since i started to try to play it. Loved.

So, i played guitar for about 3 years learning by myself (i'm horrible but a nice person :)) ) and mandolin is a very very different style but i'm getting good in.

Ok, now i need help. In my country we didn't have artists who put this instrument in popular music. So i decided to try it in our MPB (Popular Brazilian Music) but i need a point of start. I don't have money to pay for lessons cuz i don't have money for it. I'm living alone and have to pay my college.

I'm putting mandolin to real dive, i loved it and i want to be a good player. So, i started with PDF to play Vivaldi, Jacob do Bandolim (honor mention) but i want to start with something more soft and simple, like Mandolin Orange (as you can check here https://youtu.be/_4u00tZpy8w?t=17s).

But i'm here to claim for you, God's of bluegrass. Guide me in this darkness. What i want to know to practice and study to play like him.

HAVE A NICE DAY, PPL.

Don Julin has a number of lessons on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC44NchnEmiVHLOMaBfQUHrg)

Pete Martin is another good source of lessons on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/user/xt981).

Baron Collins-Hill provides free mandolin lessons on the computer, you might want to check him out: www.mandobaron.com/mandolessons/
MandoLessons is dedicated to providing free online mandolin lessons to people all over the world. MandoLessons covers all aspects of learning to play the mandolin ....

also, you probably have access to bandolims, which are the brazillian counterpart of american-style mandolins. They're flat-topped and slightly deeper in the body, but they sound wonderful and are great for a lot of different types of music. I have two and they're perfectly fine with classical, choro, ITM and kelzmer (about all i play). You may be able to find one if you want to replace the Stagg at some point. just a thought.
