I've been pretty obsessed with Army Navy Style mandolins and I was looking to maybe pick one up but have been having trouble finding one that is well reviewed but at a relatively low price (ideally around or under $400 either used or new) I've seen some offerings from Ozark (Army Navy) and Ashbury (AM-110) but saw fairly bad reviews for the former a none at all for the latter. Does anyone have experience with the Ashbury AM-110? Any other recommendations?

This one sold, but you should be able to find a Flatiron in or near your price range:

Are you in Great Britain? Speculating from the brands you mention. Used Flatirons won't be common there, but I would recommend looking for one that might even be available "trans-Atlantic-ly." (On the other hand, you quoted the price in US dollars, so maybe not.)

Not sure you'll find one in the price range you suggest, however. Even the Cadet, which was their "budget" pancake mandolin, seems to be listing over $600 now.

Of new mandolins of this style, the Redline Traveler gets some of the best Cafe ink. Here's one on Reverb (https://reverb.com/item/5269141-redline-traveler-mandolin?gclid=CKjK2eOD39QCFU65wAodaOEL5w&pla=1) for $570 or so.

Flatiron just popped up in classifieds for $525. Maybe still too high for you, but a solid instrument.

I don't know if this one is in your price range or not, but last evening I listed this new RedLine Traveler Mandolin here on the MC Classifieds...
