Do you play other instruments? It's no harder than guitar and some feel it's easier.

I don't think it's very difficult. I learnt, and I'm useless at all things musical.
It's tough on the fingers at the beginning http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif , but it's not complicated.
