Congratulations to our winner who is from California. Turns out he's a board member but doesn't post very often. Had a nice a chat with him late this morning and will let him post a reply here if he wishes. Sounds like a good match for this terrific mandolin.

Thanks to the 5,000+ entries and thanks again to Rigel for their generosity. Sorry everyone couldn't be a winner. Maybe we'll do this again in the future if everyone agrees it was fun.

I thought it was a blast right up until I found out my name isn't Wade Fox. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

This was a wonderful idea. I hope it happens again, someday. It was fun to dream for a while. Play on, Mr Fox! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Congrats, Wadefox. Yeah, it was fun thinking of all the places I'd take your new Rigel to show it off if it was mine. Best wishes!

Jeez, over 120 posts in two and a half years isn't "posting
very often"? Seems like a reasonably active member to me (who has a similar record and reads the Cafe every day with keen interest.)

Scott got that idea from me. I used to post a lot, but my posting dropped off due to grad school.

Thanks everyone. now before I start to sound like Sally Fields, I'll go.

Wade... I can relate. I just finished a Master's and it really cut into my playing time (and time for everything else). I'd like to help... you can send the Rigel to me to break in for you until you have adequate time for it! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif It wouldn't be fair for you to have to look at that temptation every day when you have school work to do!

Congratulations to Wade, many thanks to Scott for putting it together, kudos to Rigel for providing it and condolences to everyone else (myself included). It was fun to dream. I still love my new mando and now I can claim it is more expensive than a Rigel (yours, anyway) http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

scott- i enjoyed the contest-feel free to give away a mando any time as far as i'm concerned. even though i've already one one, i think my chances are as good as anyone's.

This read like Scott was describing me, except for the "not posting very often" and the "chatted with him this morning" parts --- as well as the fact that I didn't actually win. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Congrats again Wade! Even though it didn't make it all the way to my house in Oakland, I'm happy for you.

Mandolin sales across the nation were slumping as the Cafe Message Board held their collective breaths and wallets. Hey all you luthiers, I believe the market's just been freed up. I feel a bout of MAS coming on...

You got that one right, Craig. Neat thing for Rigel to do, but made it hard for a couple weeks to sell Rigels, if there was an outside chance of winning one...

Congratulations Wade. It seems that the mandolin found its rightful home (if it makes it there - I have "friends" who work for the Post Office and UPS).

It sure would be nice to see more of these giveaways in the future...thanks to Rigel's generosity...maybe some other mando makers would be interested in following this lead.

Congratulations, Wade!

Yes, it is fun! Whatever it is - mandolin, CDs, stickers, it`s fun.
I happily won a CD few months ago. I was so excited. What I like more is, the generousity of the mandolin players. Look once again at the giveaway topic and you will find out, what I mean. Two more examples: I asked two of the people attending the classical section of the board, where I mostly post - "Did you register for the Rigel?" He said: "No, I won from one of the previous giveaways and I would like to give a better chance to the others." The other example: Same question and the answer was: "Yes, I did! If I win, there`s a friend of mine who play bluegrass and will be happy with it."

Great community! Thanks to Scott and Rigel!

Good luck!

Well the rigel finally came today, and I must say it's a beauty. It puts my poor old Absaroka to shame. If I could figure out how to post pictures here, you'd see one very happy man and his new mando. Thanks again to Scott and the folks at Rigel.
