Years ago I saw a TV commercial for Eatmore chocolate bars. A bunch of cowboys were sitting around the bunkhouse eating this chewy candy and listening to the gramophone. The record playing was "Beautiful Yoho Valley". Just as the chorus started, there was scratch in the record and it began to repeat. But no one got up to fix the needle. Anyhow, does anyone know who made this old record? Are there available recordings around? Or lyrics? (Or has the winds of time blown away yet another great old tune!) http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Debbie,

Here is a little information on what you are looking for. Good luck in trying to find the recording.

A quick search reveals that there are a number of Wilf Carter CDs around with that song on it, under its more common name "My Little Yoho Lady". This (http://www.bestprices.com/cgi-bin/vlink/743625559323BT) one is under $10.

Thanks, dudes. So, my fellow Canadians Cowboy Jack and Wilf Carter..er..."Montana Slim".... both sang it! Figures. Since my Mom says Yoho Valley is in British Colombia. I, Mandodebbie will have to make cover album someday just to keep this song alive! I wonder how high up it will go if it hits the charts? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I had better practice my mandolin some more for a few years first.
