Hello, From researching here it could be from the Matsumoku Family? (Aria)
I am thrown by the "S" and by the rectangle perloid fret inlays. Any info would be great. My wife scored this weekend, and I'm having fun with my new hobbie. Thanks

Similar instruments were imported under many brand names.

There are Orlando labeled instruments out there from Japan and Korea. The tailpiece cover may or may not be original. They come off, get lost, get swapped out. If you didn't pay too much for it it's a decent starter instrument provided it's playable and it looks playable. If you take a look at Pennco mandolins from the same era you'll see F style models with that same MOTS fingerboard inlay. What you need to run down is the name of the distributor that owned the brand name. It is a factory built instrument.

Thanks for the replies. It is a good starter for the price. Started learning to play some tunes. I really dig it. So some practicing on this and we'll see what happens. Thanx again
