Not sure how to describe these guys, but I just downloaded the newest Bonepony CD, Jubilee, from emusic.com, and it is awesome! They are made up of an acoustic mandolinist, acoustic guitarist, vocalist, and a percusionist; with violin, bass, and electric guitar backing them. They have kind of a roots-rock/folk-rock thing going on, and they are really tight -- and unlike many other rock-genre bands that "feature" a mandolin, you can actually hear the mandolin clearly, as it is leading or driving every tune.

You can hear samples at the following links:

I have heard them on a commercial on TV(I think for a car?). I liked what I heard there. I would probably buy their CD.
