Didn't know there was such a thing until I saw this (https://www.mandolincafe.com/ads/109400#109400) ad in the Cafe this morning. I'd like to see more Loar guitars.

I'd like to see more Loar guitars.

So would a lot of other folks, I would imagine. Maybe then the price would drop a tad.

I'd like to hear some, too. Do they have the same cachet as his mandolins?

Some years back I got to play a Loar signed L5 once that Hank Risan of Santa Cruz owned. Also next to a Stromberg. I think the cachet weighed heavily on my impressions of both of them. While they both are absolute top tier guitars the sound wouldn't be for everyone. The L5 was a bit lighter and more responsive without a lot of bass while the Stromberg was notably heavier and required a heavier Rt. hand to get it to come alive.

Here's an interesting story from July of 2014. I don't know if the guitars I mentioned were part of this event.

The Loar F-5 is considered as fully-developed tone, etc. and ultimate desirability by players. Later models, not so much. The guitars, while wonderful instruments might not be considered at the same level as the mandolins since they don't have cutaways and later models, more desirable by players were larger.
