An embarrasement of musical riches in the Boston area lately. Luke Plumb's mando playing with Shooglenifty was really hot, but yesterday I had the priviledge of seeing Eire Japan with Frankie Gavin, Junji Shirota (a whiz on guitar and banjo!) and the absolutely astounding Paddy Keenan on pipes.
All three are truely great and play together brilliantly, but to hear Paddy play live is an indescribable musical priviledge. I was simply amazed. Don't miss them if they come anywhere near you.
