What kind of tuners does the newer km1000s come with? The tuners and tail piece on mine look like they have a satin yellowed finish on them. Just wondering if that was normal. It is a 2013 model. Thanks

Pictures will help. I'm going to guess they were Gotoh's but I won't know unless I see them.

Thanks Mike, I think they are Golden Gate. I found some with the same design on them at Saga Music.

Saga imported both Gotoh and a Gotoh clone at one time. They also have a few tuners that they have made. The Golden Gate FM-30 Embossed F-Model Mandolin Tuners - 2 Planks (4+4) - Gold (http://www.sagamusic.com/products/product-details.aspx?item=FM-30)appear to be Gotoh's and at that price they should be.

If the ones on your mandolin are like the cheaper gold set (http://www.sagamusic.com/products/product-details.aspx?item=FM-7) then those are Saga tuners and they are also sold on eBay by a few sellers (similar model here (http://www.ebay.com/itm/F5-mandolin-mandola-gold-tuner-23mm-post-to-post-Tuning-peg-636G-/371373599574?hash=item5677976b56:g:MEkAAOSwMmBVmJO 0)).

If they look like these (https://www.allparts.com/TK-0376-002-F-Style-Keys-Gold_p_3628.html) they would probably be Gotoh's unless they were from the era of the Gotoh clones.

They look like Golden Gate FM 5s. They have that design embossed on them They also look like they have a brushed aluminum finish on them, not chrome, nickel or gold. The tailpiece also.
