Looking at Tony Lombardos' great series on Freddie Green style Comping (he has a new one by the way) and using 2 and 3 note chords to comp. I also use these 2 and 3 note chords to build some of my solos. Mostly using 4 note arpeggios as a base, these 2 note chords contain two of the most important notes already, so I already have a great place to start, and to think and hear where I may be going.
