These are two waltzes I have recorded today using arrangements for contra dancing by Evelyn Tiffany-Castiglioni -- thanks, Evelyn! Both recorded on three mandolins with tenor guitar backing:

1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin
1915 Luigi Embergher mandolin
Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin
Vintage Viaten tenor guitar

1) Starry Nights Of Shetland

This is a traditional waltz from Shetland, also sometimes (wrongly, I think) attributed to Ronnie Cooper. Other names for the same tunes are "A Starry Night For A Ramble", "Breamish" and "A Starry Night In Shetland".

2) Archie's Fancy

This lovely waltz was written by the great Northumbrian piper Billy Pigg, and appears as the opening track on the Smithsonian's collection of Northumbrian field recordings (http://www.folkways.si.edu/billy-pigg/archies-fancy/holey-hapenny-medley/celtic-world/music/track/smithsonian).

Thanks, Martin! I love waltzes (as you know) and also have a thing for Northumbrian music.
