Most likely eastern European. Are there any markings at all inside?

Nothing I can see however looks like there was something behind where you tighten the string (please excuse my total lack of terminology ) but can't make it out as appears to have worn considerably.

That sure looks like there was a label there. Maybe someone else has a similar mandolin. This wasn't made in the US.

Looks like there was a sticker over a serial number, but I can't make it out. Possibly someone with better resolution on their computer may be able to help.

I tried taking lots of photos but this one was probably the best.

Actually I enlarged the picture, messed with the lighting. I believe that was probably an embossed label of some sort. It was probably for the store that sold it if indeed it was not simply a random sticker. I don't think it's a brand and I don't see any serial number there. This was built as a copy of the basic Harmony/Regal style mandolins built in the US from the 20's on. The slotted headstock takes it out of the US as does the copy of a Waverly cloud tailpiece. The tailpiece on this mandolin has too many cloud bumps.

I have seen a number of German-made mandolins with that tailpiece that is sometimes marked Marcello. That's about all I can ID of it for the country of origin. It is a low-end/budget model and not worth that much.
