Well.....I just pulled the trigger on this mando! I have scoured Mando Cafe for comments on Carlson-era A5L, and though there's not a lot of info, everyone seems to comment favorably. This one is my son's birth year, and it just seems to call my name. Updates forthcoming......

Just found this post and query that I made 15 months ago concerning the Gibson A5-L. Just updating this to say that it has been the best mandolin I have ever owned, with a great neck profile and tone to match. I will be keeping this one forever.
