If I'm not mistaken, I believe they come with J74's.
Thanks, sent an e-mail to Collings and got the J74 reply.
Not sure what the point was for Tone Monster but I'll explain my intent. #It seems strange to go buy a mandolin based on how it sounds and then change something that will have a big impact on tone like the strings.

Absolutely. FWIW, I have one and ran J74's on them the first several changes. They sound great, but lasting only 3 weeks was getting to me. I have been using EXP74's more recently, and I don't like the tone as much. However, I do like the fact I can get 3 months out of them rather than 3 weeks. Dollars come out almost even, but I can't stand changing strings.
