looks like mandolin on top, then maybe 12 string, then 6 string guitar

The electric actually looks to me (and sounds like) a mandolin rather than octave, neck *appears* long, but check the bridge placement.

Sounds like JPJ has the six string in an open tuning. I can't imagine playing a triple neck, but if I had a double neck guitar/mando (my dream instrument) I think I'd have the six string in open D or open G tuning . . . could be strummed open a bit while playing mando.

JPJ's first triple neck (mando/12/6) was an instrument he had all the way back in Zep days, he got it in the middle of the 1977 US tour.

Thanks for this. I saw them in Phoenix on this tour. I don't remember the instruments, but I do remember how awesome the acoustic set was.
